On sleep deprivation,and the intricacies of nappin

fingers through hair
I sigh
want to loose myself
in thoughts but
afraid to wander
without bread crumbs
jaw clenched and
closed eyes
slowly breathing
till my body
is numb
I reach out for nothing
I believe in the
lie
break apart my trappings
push passed the nettles of my mind
gnarled wings beating
and fly.
